How long is my certification good for?

Once you have satisfactorily completed a BLS, Heartsaver or First Aid course with Caring At Heart CPR, your certification is good for two years.

I need a general CPR course to prepare me to save the life of a loved one. Which course is best for me?

 Family & Friends® CPR provides basic CPR training in a dynamic group environment using the research-proven practice-while-watching method.

 I am not a healthcare professional and I need a CPR and AED course for work purposes

Which course should I take? Heartsaver® CPR AED is probably best for you. The AHA offers this course in both classroom-based and eLearning formats.

 Are your courses OSHA compliant?

Our Heartsaver Courses are for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory or other requirements. While these courses are designed to meet OSHA requirements, OSHA does not review or approve any courses for compliance.

 Is there a written exam for the CPR/BLS? 

Yes. The American Heart Association requires each student to complete a written exam in order to obtain a provider card for bls certification.  

 Do the Caring At Heart instructors work for the American Heart Association? 

No. We are certified by and held to the guidelines of the American Heart Association. However, we are employed and compensated from Caring At Heart.   

 May I complete the skills check-off for BLS prior to taking the online course through the American Heart Association?

 No. A certificate of completion must be submitted to an instructor prior to completing the skills check-off. A payment for the online course is submitted to the American Heart Association and a payment is submitted to Amazing Heart for the skills check-off. Please refer to the “links” page. 

 Do I have to purchase a student workbook prior to taking the CPR courses? 

Yes.

 I have knee or back limitations. Will I be able to take a class? 

Yes. We will accommodate individuals with physical limitations to the best of our ability.  

Is the equipment cleaned regularly? 

Yes. Infection control is our priority! Equipment is cleaned after each use with solutions that are suggested by the CDC and equipment manufacturers.  

Will I have to put my bare mouth on the equipment?

 No. All students will be provided personal face shields when practicing CPR.     

If I am unable to attend my prepaid class, will my fees be refunded? 

No. There are no refunds. However, we will reschedule your class date. Please contact a course instructor for assistance. 

 Will I receive any information on how to prepare for my class? 

Yes. All students will receive a welcome letter with instructions for the class via email (postal mail for those with no email account). If there are further questions or concerns, please contact a course instructor.
